Welcome to our new Web site and dicussion Forum!  We envision this as a place to develop an ATE evaluation community of practice.

    What's a community of practice?

FROM WIKIPEDIA: Communities of Practice (CoP) are collaborative, informal networks that support professional practitioners in their efforts to develop shared understandings and engage in work-relevant knowledge building.(Hara 2009, p. 3) Cognitive anthropologists Jean Lave and Etienne Wenger used the term "community of practice" to describe a group of people who share an interest, a craft, and/or a profession. It is in the process of participating in that group that the members learn from each other and develop themselves personally and professionally.(Lave & Wenger 1991)

We want to help ATE folks learn from each other about effective ways to evaluate their efforts and use the results.  We hope you'll use this venue as a place to ask questions, ger answers, highlight successes, describe challenges, share tools, etc.

    Cheers,

    Lori

We're so excited to be at the PI Conference, highlighting the ways we can facilitate evaluation for ATE grantees. The community of practice is a great avenue to share ideas and resources around evaluation.
